One small thing, when testing the Lambda, for first two times it got a timeout error, but it automatically passed the test. I think this could be the Lambda warmup time, which is more than the test timeout time. By increasing the test time out from 3 seconds to 5 seconds may solve the problem.

It would be better served to show how the cloudfront and waf are setup and the SNS topic is created so that students can get the full picture of how to setup their environment from scratch to create the lambda function on their own.
