Advanced Amazon Redshift: Data LoadingGo to Lab
Great lab. Very useful.
Bad! PEM file is not working.
To the point, concise and good introductory material for S3 and RS from Data Engineer point of view
Not bad. It would be helpful to have some optional comments explaining why the step is necessary and what it is doing. I can follow thru, but don't always know why I am doing it. I also got stuck and eventually got it to work, but I could have used more advice on troubleshooting.
3 stars because of the lack of visuals to explain the tasks and component connections and I found some of explanatory texts, especially near the end of lab, hard to understand. One didn't make much sense at all and other lacked articles like the'. Also it would be good to explain more about PuTTY. I stumbled over the fact you cannot see yourself type the password. I thought something was wrong and wasted time on this section fathoming PuTTY out. The same goes for copy and paste in PuTTY.
I had issues with the lab for the following reasons: #1 The default compression mode for a column seems to be lzo, this might have changed since the lab was written thought #2. The remote source lab failed because the command returned an error about "Manifest file is not in correct json format" But the json is fine. Overall I learned a little but not as much as I would have liked. Maybe the next level lab will be better. Thanks, Jim
The cluster is missing - could not finish the lab
