Copy and pasted in-line code provided, and the Lambda function didn't work. Will try again!

Badly written with mistakes in role for dynamo DB

Ashraf N. · Reviewed about 7 years ago

This one is bad. Point 85 should be "lambda_basic_excecution_DYNAMODB", not "lambda_basic_execution". 115 is not clear. "simply configure another test event..." implies that it should be done in Lambda. However, You should go to DynamoDB, select table "GameScoreRecords", go to the items tab and create new items with String field "Username" and Number field "Score". I also incremented field "RecordID". After adding items in that table, one should see that table "GameSocresByUser" is automatically updated by the Lambda function.

85th point, the existing role - is it "lambdabasicexecution" or should we select dynamo db?? i could not find my username in the table

I had to put --partition-key in order to execute the code aws kinesis put-record --stream-name Mystream --data "testdata" --partition-key 1

The lab asks questions but doesn't explain the answers so you don't know if you were right or not.

Step 85 is a typo, right? This does not allow the lamda to write to dynamodb.
