Maintaining High Availability with Auto Scaling (for Linux)Go to Lab
I liked it
It was frustrating to get the autoscaling policies work. There were some fields in CloudWatch screens that were insufficiently documented. CPU utilization is not a very real world thing on which to trigger autoscaling. We should have used a canary (a lambda) to trigger autoscaling when response time becomes unmanageable. You need a real web application to test.
There are bugs in the script that omits the application of the AWS configure command. I also did not receive credit for completing all the steps successfully, despite doing so. The solution indicated by the staff was to start over - another hour of work- ugh!
Couldn't create auto scaling policies from CLI, the command provided missing region attribute and when added region attribute manually error "unable to locate credentials" shows up, configure credentials not possible due to lack of privileges. Unable to complete these steps using GUI as well, this stops user to complete the lab.
