Using Windows PowerShell Desired State Configuration in AWSGo to Lab
I got this message on the DSCServer VERBOSE: Performing the operation "Start-DscConfiguration: SendMetaConfigurationApply" on target "MSFT_DSCLocalConfigurationManager". VERBOSE: Perform operation 'Invoke CimMethod' with following parameters, ''methodName' = SendMetaConfigurationApply,'className' = MSFT_DSCLocalConfigurationManager,'namespaceName' = root/Microsoft/Windows/DesiredStateConfiguration'. WinRM cannot complete the operation. Verify that the specified computer name is valid, that the computer is accessible over the network, and that a firewall exception for the WinRM service is enabled and allows access from this computer. By default, the WinRM firewall exception for public profiles limits access to remote computers within the same local subnet. + CategoryInfo : ConnectionError: (root/Microsoft/...gurationManager:String) , CimException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : HRESULT 0x80338126 + PSComputerName : rdgw.qlstudentdomain.local VERBOSE: Operation 'Invoke CimMethod' complete. VERBOSE: Set-DscLocalConfigurationManager finished in 63.037 seconds.
I messed up the instructions so I had to start again.
Another excellent lab
Unable to use Start-DscConfigurtation .\NewPullServer -Wait Then password changed for some reason and was unable to log in.
going to start one more time
got stuck at the forcePull. "WinRM cannot process the request". Cannot find the computer rdgw.qlstudentdomain.local. tho ping works. maybe i made mistakes. Otherwise, this showed how to join a domain with PS but i didnt really get how the DSC manages (other than some black box to push MOFs)
half of it didn't work. The Path didn't contain the extracted powershell folder and I had to move it around until the script worked. The pull script didn't work at all.
a little more difficult than one
The instruction seems very rigid and mechanical, kind of paint by numbers. No real instruction.
