One area was not marked to skip this if Linux/Mac user (such as ssh and putty). I had to figure out to move past the putty part and go to the next section where a pem is used, rather than the ppk. Other than that, it was pretty clear.

I had some confusion about the Private Key Pairs and it seems I somehow was not logged into the AWS console with my qwiklabs account. But it was a great tutorial none the less.
